Re: Plugwise

Richard,

Just to let you know that due to a failed Circle+ I haven't yet had time to try this - but I will be doing so....

Re: Plugwise

Hi Richard -

Good stuff and yes I'd be interested in adding my Plugwise devices to HouseBot - I have about 40 modules.

Re: Calling Sonos users

I thoroughly recommend Oslers Sonos WSC and Housebot too. One thing you will find with C-Bus is that you likley need something to provide the extra smarts - beyond the basic network. Time scheduling and logic interactions are extras offered by a PAC, HomeGate, Touchscreen or Wiser unit. Should you w...

Deleting a device with nested groups..

If you have a device created with a lot of sub groups and you wish to delete it you can't do so until all the nested groups and their contents are deleted. The xAP plugin can autocreate devices in HouseBot and they might have many sub groups and endpoints all of which have to be manually deleted to ...

Re: Calling Sonos users

Thanks Victor - the theme import ran this time.

I've a few things not quite working quite as expected but I'll have a play around and feel sure I can get there now.

Re: Controlling squeecenter?

If you can install the xAP express hub as a service rather than xFxViewer it is strongly recommended. The reason is that your xAP communications are currently dependent on Viewer and if that application is exited then so are your xAP communications. A service is available 24/7 and persists over rebo...

RFXCOM plugin RFXmitter support ?

Scott - There is a different "RFXmitter" module available from RFXCOM which I believe lends itself better to transmit efficiency. Are there any plans to support this or will I need to buy an additional ordinary transmitter as well ?

Re: Phidgets

You could use the xAP Netiom along with the xAP plugin for HouseBot - 16 inputs, 16 Outputs, 4 A/D, serial and built in Ethernet/WebServer/email. http://www.phaedrusltd.com/pages/html/netiom-xap.html cheers Kevin PS The HomeVision and HomeVision Pro controllers are supported in xAP via an Ethernet a...

Re: Controlling squeecenter?

I would think that xAP is probably the easiest way to do this - you just install the xAP plugin in SqueezeCentre and the xAP plugin in HouseBot and then create the properties in HB that match the information from SqueezeCentre. xAP will keep everything updated and in synch. You will need however to ...

Re: Calling Sonos users

Yes... if you want autonomous operation - but most people write small applications on their PC - and then attach to the device via RS232/485 , parallel or Ethernet.

Re: Calling Sonos users

Can you give me some details on exactly what you have the script interacting with via xAP? I still can't quite wrap my head around xAP and how it can be useful to me in my set-up. Osler If you have a HouseBot centric system ie only one central controller - and are not interested in adding new devic...

Re: Calling Sonos users

Hi Osler, I just wanted to let you know that , although I'm really busy at the moment and won't get a chance to play with these extra bits for a while, they look really great , and most useful. I am using your HouseBot script all the time to effectively make all my Sonos players xAP enabled. The Son...

I've been keeping an eye out for this but it hasn't surfaced (on the UK store anyway).

Is it still in the pipeline ?

Re: Coincident value changes and task triggers

Yes - In the first post I'd mentioned this as a possible change to the xAP plugin, which by nature of xAP device 'schema' has many grouped property values... and so it would be very do-able. Although I used a music example my issue manifested itself with CallerID too (I was picking up the last name ...
