small simple and cheap when it comes to computers are almost mutually exclusive. To run Housebot standalone on a dedicated PC doesn't requires much of anything. A 2 GHz Celeron is overkill. The best bet would be something based on a MicroATX all in one motherboard(with LAN) 256 MB memory and a small...

The theme elements have partial data --- after removing the device and restarting HouseBot, if you go into the theme editor and bring up a control that refered to the old device, you will see the device and property fields are empty. If you create a new device that has the same properties and then y...

The big question is how many rs-232 ports you are going to need. Most mini-ATX and some of the regular ATX motherboards only have 1 serial port. If you need more than that, then ATX is a must. I have not seen add-on serial boards for the low height mini-ATX case form factor. At this point as far as ...

Maybe a change In 2.15 you can increment a property value from a button (property change value parm) that is numeric by setting the button value to += for increment and -= for a decrement. This chnages the current value of the property by +/- 1 unit. The enable button Press repeating option was desi...

Sorry about the property changes, it was a last minute thing to simplify the properties. When you talk about the dial moving too much, are you talking about the dial control in HouseBot itself moving from the min pos to the max position or are you talking about the physical dial on your real device?

Tofer Set the background to a bigger sized bitmap and then you will be able to see the buttons and move them up into a more suitable position. Then you can change the background bitmap back to a smaller bitmap and finish positioning the buttons. This is not an uncommon problem if in your theme you h...

Look at the button properties and see if you are using the HB red directory. All the buttons in that skin are .png files with transparentcy enabled. Depending on the button color and the background color, those buttons can show very dark when pressed. The HouseBot GUI has no 'splash' screen. It show...

You do not need to use the Null device. When you set up a X10 Lamp Module, one of the default properties is the Leviton Dim level which has a value range of 1 - 100 that will map directly to the slider values. The actual dimmer should map to that range. IF the dimmer you use only supports the range ...
